The mechanics of selling through retail and the supply chain behind it are becoming more sophisticated as transactional information proliferates and can be analysed in new ways. Supply chains that were once opaque can be clarified, controlled and simplified using data and analysis, often increasing both efficiency and availability, or giving greater insight into ranging, returns and compliance.

Oxford Indices has conducted projects including many in newspaper and magazine retail distribution, as well as food and drink. Handling large product files and numbers of retail outlets to benchmark and model behaviour is common to most projects. Results encompass new revenue development, margin expansion and maximisation of return on marketing investment.
